Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director
Greg commenced as Nathan River’s CEO & Managing Director in September 2021, after four years at Fortescue Metals Group in the roles of Chief Operating Officer and Director Operations and 26 years in various roles with Rio Tinto.
With over three decades of extensive international experience in the mining sector, across multiple commodities in large scale project development and construction, operational and business leadership, joint venture management and technology deployment, Greg brings significant business credentials and over 25 years iron ore market knowledge to Nathan River’s Executive Leadership Team.
Greg holds a degree in Construction Engineering from Curtin University and has completed the Vincent Fairfax Fellowship in Ethical Leadership at the University of Melbourne as well as the prestigious Wharton Business School’s Advanced Management Program.
He is a member of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management. Greg is on the Board of the UWA Business School and has most recently been appointed a White Ribbon Community Partner.
Chief Financial Officer
Kaveen is a Fellow of CPA Australia (FCPA) and a qualified MBA with a progressive career spanning over 15 years during which he had held senior finance roles in blue-chip companies including Glencore, Xstrata and BHP. Prior to joining NRR, Kaveen was the CFO for Glencore’s Zinc business in Australia. Kaveen holds a number of Board positions including in the Not-For-Profit area and is also an adjunct academic with the Australian Institute of Business.
Kaveen holds a Bcom (Hons) from ANU, Canberra, an MBA from UNSW, Sydney and a Graduate Certificate in Management from INSEAD, France
Chief Operating Officer
Wes is an experienced Civil and Mining Professional with 25 years’ experience in General and Operations Management coupled with extensive infrastructure development experience. Prior to joining Nathan River Resources, he spent 9 years managing Atlas Iron’s Mt Webber and Wodgina DSO operations. Prior to running Atlas mining operations Wes worked with Boral holding operations and management roles in their Construction Materials businesses, including Hard Rock Quarrying, Contract Mining and Crushing, C&D Recycling, Pre-mix Concrete, Road Construction and Maintenance. Wes holds a Bachelor of Engineering Degree from the University of Sydney and an Executive MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management. He has held positions on industry boards, including as Chairman of the Institute of Quarrying WA Branch.
