BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Alan has 40 years' experience in commodities and shipping, having previously been the Group Managing Director and partner in Trans-world Metals Ltd, which had significant interests in aluminium, steel, ferro-alloys, fertilizer manufacturing and trade. In 1999 he founded British Marine which became the UK’s largest dry bulk shipping company in 2008.
Joseph began his career as a qualified chartered accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers, in which capacity he provided advisory services to a number of large energy and commodity companies. He also has an MSc in Energy, Trade and Finance from Cass Business School.
He joined British Marine in 2014 and has been involved in a number of projects ranging from shipping investment to coal, power, iron ore and bauxite projects, with a focus on structured finance and trading.
Simon is a qualified chartered accountant who has lived and worked in Asia for the last 16 years. Based in Singapore, Simon joined the Britmar Group in 2009 and heads the Asian office. He is responsible for the origination, execution and day to day oversight of the Group's investments in Asia and Australasia.
Adam is an experienced Investment Banker with a proven track record in Industry, having worked at Credit Suisse, Lehman Brothers and ICBC Standard Bank as well as EngieGroup. He has run Capital Markets as well Corporate Finance Teams in the commodity space.
Rob is a Mining Engineer with over 25 years of international experience, 18 of those years with Rio Tinto. In 2013 he established an independent mining consultancy, providing technical, economic, and strategic advice to the resource sector covering Australia, Botswana, Brazil, Canada, Finland, Ghana, Madagascar, Peru, South Africa and Zimbabwe. During this time Mr. Marsden has consulted on iron ore projects in Australia, Brazil, South Africa and Canada. Whilst with Rio Tinto, Rob conducted the commercial review of over 40 investment proposals on behalf of the Investment Committee covering acquisitions, disposals, project funding and project expansions.
Glencore Representative Director
Peter Hill is Glencore’s representative on the NRR board. Since joining Glencore in 2009, Peter has been a part of building out Glencore’s Iron Ore trading and marketing footprint. Originally from Melbourne, prior to joining Glencore in Switzerland, Peter worked at BHP Billiton in various marketing roles. Peter has a BSc from London School of Economics, and is also a director of Jumelles Ltd, the holding company of Zanaga Iron Ore mining in the Republic of Congo
